What Does a Reservoir Engineer Do?

A Reservoir Engineer analyzes subsurface rock and fluid properties to estimate hydrocarbon reserves and optimize production from oil and gas fields. They build reservoir models, design depletion strategies, and recommend well placement and completion techniques to maximize recovery. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with reservoir simulation software, and a deep understanding of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics as applied to porous media.
