**Our Opportunity**

We are currently seeking a **Managing Engineer** for our **Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineering** Practice in **Houston, TX**. In this role, you will work as part of a team to have a significant role in developing business and expanding the practice in your technical area of expertise.


**You will be responsible for**
-------------------------------

* Identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities
* Significantly increasing Exponent's materials and corrosion engineering consulting efforts, particularly in upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas
* Analyzing a wide variety of safety, performance and reliability issues related to materials and corrosion engineering using field inspections, engineering analysis and experimental testing


**You will have the following skills and qualifications**
---------------------------------------------------------

* Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
* At least 5 – 10 years of related professional experience
* Licensure as a professional engineer (PE or P. Eng) in Metallurgical Engineering or related discipline is required.
* Certification through the American Petroleum Institute’s Individual Certification Programs (e.g., API 580\) is preferred but not required.
* Litigation experience as a testifying expert is preferred but not required.
* Business development experience with a proven track record
* The ideal candidate will be a recognized leader in their field
* Ability to attract projects to support full\-time staff, and to manage and develop a group of highly motivated individualsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams
* A record of professional papers and presentations, and a proven record of dedication to quality and accuracy
* Presently legally authorized to work in the US, no immigration sponsorship or visa processing required
