Project Engineer, Cell Quality
Job Description
**What to Expect**
As a Project Engineer within the Cell Quality Team, you will be reporting to the Sr. Manager of Cell Quality. You will be responsible for coordinating high\-impact quality projects and initiatives to ensure their timely closure, successful execution, and alignment with Tesla’s operational goals. This role requires proactive collaboration with cross\-functional teams to identify project risks, resolve bottlenecks, and escalate critical issues when necessary. You will work closely with departments including Quality Engineering, Quality Operations, Manufacturing, and Operations to drive project milestones, deliverables, and quality standards.
**What You'll Do*** Leading and Coordination of Strategic Quality Workshops: Lead and coordinate strategic quality workshops focused on OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and problem\-solving to align teams on priorities. Facilitate cross\-functional discussions to address systemic quality issues and drive continuous improvement
* Leading Problem\-Solving Framework Meetings: Lead and coordinate 8D problem\-solving meetings to ensure structured, data\-driven resolution of quality issues. Ensure timely and accurate communication of project roadblocks to the right stakeholders for high priority problem solving projects
* Operations \& Efficiency: Ensure critical quality projects are streamlined, with the right people assigned to the right tasks to maintain momentum and deliverables. Monitor project pipelines to prevent bottlenecks and ensure alignment with operational priorities
* Risk Management: Proactively identify, measure, and mitigate risks across quality projects, ensuring transparency in project status and potential impacts. Reported challenges and risks to leadership with actionable insights to prevent escalation
**What You'll Bring*** Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
* 2\+ years in manufacturing environment, in a mix of mass production and/or project engineering roles
* Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve challenging problems and influence without authority
* Direct experience in planning high impact projects
* Ability to work and communicate cross\-functionally, including interfacing with senior leadership team
* Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to work in a fast\-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours
* Aptitude to learn and incorporate new technologies
* Ability to identify issues and develop corrective measures to resolve
* Detail oriented with strong record\-keeping and organizational skills
