**Project Overview:**

Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984\-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five\-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). Brownsville, Texas is a city known for its diverse history, tradition, and rich culture. **Job Summary:**

In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. \#LI\-BH1
**Major Responsibilities:**
---------------------------
* On a medium to large (PFE Tier I \- \<$250m) job, performs the duties of a lead engineer in either an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or as a Project Field Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the operation of assigned operating section.
* Proactively engages with their teams’ development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback
* Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.
* Coordinates with design on constructability issues.
* Reviews material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.
* Possesses responsibility for quantity take\-off, control, reporting and forecasting.
* Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
* Possesses responsibility for coordinating between Construction and Startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the Startup Specialist as required to support component/system turnover and assuming responsibility (as required) for area turnover coordination as determined by the PFE.
* Reviews and approves inspection test plans
* Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
**Education and Experience Requirements:**

* Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10\-13 years of relevant experience or 14\-17 years of relevant work experience
**Required Knowledge and Skills:**
----------------------------------
* Technical knowledge of all phases of construction engineering relating to a single discipline interfacing with all areas, or in a multi\-discipline position assigned to a single area.
* Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.
* Familiar with Bechtel’s Business Ethics handbook and policies.
* Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety \& Health (ES\&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
* Knowledge of project\-specific enviro
