We’re looking for an **Intern, Engineer** to join our **Day \& Zimmermann** team located in Texarkana, TX. The Intern, Engineer will work alongside an experienced mentor to help improve processes and systems while supporting the needs of internal and external customers. Internship assignments will be aligned with your field of study, skills, and interests. Each intern will be paired with a seasoned employee in their degree area and will deliver a presentation to company department leaders at the conclusion of the internship, highlighting key projects and learning outcomes.

**As the Intern, Engineer, here’s the work you’ll do:**

* Assist with selecting components and helping to build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronic equipment and systems, including PLCs, SCADA systems, and machine controls, under the guidance of experienced team members.
* Support troubleshooting and basic programming tasks on production equipment and help document solutions and improvements.
* Participate in identifying opportunities to better utilize existing equipment and tools to improve efficiency, throughput, and reduce downtime by observing and assisting with production and equipment issues.
* Work closely with engineers, designers, and production personnel to support projects and may assist with evaluating minor design changes.
* Collaborate with maintenance personnel and provide support as directed, gaining hands\-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

**This role is for you if you have these skills:**

* Computer skills a must with preferred knowledge or experience with SCADA experience including wonderware and Review
* Basic PLC programming knowledge with at least one platform (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
* Must be able to read electrical prints (Relay logic, American, European, and Japanese style pints and variations) as well familiarity with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
* Have ability and desire to troubleshoot and resolve issues with various machine types (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic)
* Communicates effectively both orally and in writing

**And if you have these qualifications:**

* Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or Industrial Design and Technology, with a 3\.0 or higher GPA.
* Junior/Senior college level preferred
* Great attitude and team player.
* Successful completion of background and drug screening process.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $22/hr \- $24/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
