Our client, a prominent player in the energy exploration and production sector, is actively seeking an experienced Senior Drilling Engineer for their operations in **Fort Worth, Texas, US**. This role requires a highly skilled professional with a comprehensive understanding of drilling operations, well planning, and execution. The Senior Drilling Engineer will be responsible for designing and managing drilling programs, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective well completions. You will conduct detailed well planning, including casing design, mud programs, directional well planning, and equipment selection. This position involves close supervision of drilling operations on-site, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing innovative solutions to overcome operational challenges. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with various drilling technologies, including unconventional drilling techniques. You will collaborate closely with geologists, reservoir engineers, and production teams to optimize well placement and maximize reservoir deliverability. Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety are paramount. The Senior Drilling Engineer will also play a key role in cost management, performance analysis, and mentoring junior engineers. Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive drilling plans and programs for onshore and offshore wells. Perform detailed well design, including casing, cementing, mud, and directional plans. Oversee drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance. Analyze drilling data, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Select appropriate drilling equipment and technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize well performance. Manage drilling budgets and control operational costs. Conduct post-well analysis and provide recommendations for future operations. Mentor and guide junior drilling engineers. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 7-10 years of experience in drilling engineering and operations. Proven experience in planning and executing complex drilling programs. In-depth knowledge of drilling fluids, directional drilling, and completion techniques. Familiarity with various drilling rig types and equipment. Strong understanding of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations and best practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and communication abilities.
