Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drilling Engineer to join our offshore operations team. This critical role involves the planning, execution, and optimization of complex drilling operations in challenging offshore environments. You will be responsible for developing detailed drilling programs, including well design, casing design, and cementing strategies, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. A significant part of your role will involve real-time monitoring of drilling parameters, identifying potential risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure operational integrity and efficiency.

You will collaborate closely with geologists, reservoir engineers, and rig crews to ensure successful wellbore placement and integrity. The development and management of drilling budgets, as well as the procurement of necessary equipment and services, will also fall under your purview. Experience with various drilling technologies, such as managed pressure drilling (MPD) and extended reach drilling (ERD), is highly desirable. You will conduct post-well analysis to identify lessons learned and incorporate improvements into future drilling plans. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities are essential, as you will often be required to make critical decisions under pressure.

The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in offshore drilling engineering. A proven track record of safely and efficiently executing complex offshore wells is required. Familiarity with industry-standard drilling software and simulation tools is essential. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are paramount. This position requires the ability to work effectively in a demanding offshore environment, often on a rotational basis. This is an on-site role requiring your presence in the **Dallas, Texas, US** operational hub for management and coordination purposes, with deployments to offshore platforms as needed.
