**JOB SUMMARY**



The Lead/Principal Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in planning, coordinating and managing mechanical engineering efforts for primarily natural gas transmission pipeline and facility projects. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and will interface directly with clients ensuring projects are executed safely, compliantly, and efficiently. The role offers the opportunity of developing and implementing mechanical engineering solutions through an EPCM model.




**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**


* Lead and oversee all mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development to execution and closeoutServe as subject matter expert for mechanical systems associated with natural gas pipelines, compressor stations, and M\&R facilities.
* Develop engineering design specifications, calculations, and drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
* Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
* Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables
* Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigation measures associated with decommissioning activities
* Review and evaluate vendor proposals and technical documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements and specifications
* Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and third\-party contractors to address technical inquiries, resolve engineering issues, and facilitate project approvals
* Work with multiple disciplines (civil, structural, I\&E, etc..) and provide direction to drafting and engineering to develop PFD’s, P\&ID’s, site plans, and piping drawings in order to create a construction set of drawings
* Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP/HAZID sessions to ensure effective communication and coordination among project teams
* Monitor project progress and performance metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements
* Foster a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship, ensuring that all engineering activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures




**QUALIFICATIONS**

* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
* Professional Engineer (PE) with ability to become licensed in multiple states
* Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering associated with natural gas high pressure transmission pipelines and associated M\&R and compressor stations
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in brownfield/greenfield natural gas compressor station and M\&R projects
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
* Demonstrated ability to effectively mentor less experienced engineers and designers
* Excellent problem\-solving and decision\-making abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high\-quality engineering solutions
* Knowledge of industry standards associated with design of oil and gas pipelines and facilities
* Subject expert knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 192
* Strong written skills with experience in preparing project execution plans, design basis memoranda, technical reports, and engineering specifications
* Willingness to travel to project sites as needed to support engineering activities and project execution.
