**Job Title**: Project Engineer I
**Department:** Engineering
**Reports To:** Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager
**Location:** Houston, Texas
**FLSA Status**: Exempt
**Summary:**
Project Engineer I is an entry\-level to early\-career role that provides support for midstream oil \& gas projects, including pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, meter stations, and related facilities. Under the guidance of senior staff, this position assists with technical deliverables, cross\-discipline coordination, and project execution to ensure the delivery of projects that meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Assist in preparing engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports
* Support coordination between engineering disciplines and project stakeholders
* Help track deliverables and maintain project documentation
* Perform basic technical reviews and calculations under supervision
* Assist with procurement tasks such as preparing requisitions and reviewing vendor data
* Participate in site visits and provide basic field engineering support when needed
* Learn and apply relevant industry codes, standards, and company procedures
* Ability to travel as required
**Required Skills and Abilities:**
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Civil, or related engineering discipline
* 0–3 years of engineering experience, preferably in the oil \& gas midstream sector (internship or co\-op experience acceptable)
* Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ASME, API, DOT/PHMSA) is a plus
* Strong attention to detail, organization, and willingness to learn
* Proficiency with MS Office; experience with AutoCAD or similar tools preferred
* EIT certification preferred with progress towards acquiring P.E.
* Team player – able to communicate and relate well with others
**Physical Requirements:**
* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
* Occasional lifting of office supplies or equipment up to 20 pounds
* Ability to move around the office for daily tasks and meetings, and job site visits (when required)
