The **Pipeline Engineer** is responsible for the design, integrity, reliability, and optimization of oil, gas, and produced water pipeline systems supporting Eagle Ford operations. This role works closely with operations, facilities engineering, and project teams to ensure pipeline infrastructure is designed, installed, and maintained in a safe, compliant, and cost\-effective manner.
The Pipeline Engineer will support both new infrastructure development and existing asset integrity, ensuring alignment with company standards, regulatory requirements, and operational objectives.
**Essential Duties \& Responsibilities**
**Pipeline Engineering \& Design**
* Design and engineer gathering pipelines for oil, gas, and produced water systems across Eagle Ford assets.
* Develop pipeline specifications, routing plans, hydraulic models, and material selections.
* Support pipeline sizing, pressure drop analysis, and flow assurance evaluations.
* Review and approve pipeline construction drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation.
**Project Development \& Execution**
* Support facilities and infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning.
* Collaborate with project management teams to ensure pipeline projects meet schedule, cost, and performance objectives.
* Provide engineering oversight during construction, installation, and commissioning.
* Assist with capital project cost estimates and AFE development.
**Pipeline Integrity \& Compliance**
* Support pipeline integrity programs including inspection, testing, and maintenance activities.
* Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations (PHMSA, DOT, Texas Railroad Commission).
* Evaluate corrosion control programs including cathodic protection, coatings, and chemical treatments.
* Investigate pipeline failures or operational issues and implement corrective actions.
**Operational Support**
* Provide technical support to field operations for pipeline performance, troubleshooting, and optimization.
* Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and throughput.
* Assist with system expansions and debottlenecking projects.
**Cross\-Functional Collaboration**
* Work closely with production engineering, operations, land, and environmental teams to support asset development.
* Coordinate with third\-party engineering firms and contractors.
* Participate in safety reviews, design reviews, and hazard analyses (PHA/HAZOP as applicable).
* Evaluate new technologies, vendors, and operational improvements that enhance production reliability, emissions performance, and lifecycle cost reduction.
* Participate in incident investigations, reliability reviews, and post\-event analyses, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures.
* Support acquisition integration efforts by assessing service requirements, aligning maintenance and compression strategies, and standardizing operating practices across acquired assets.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
**Required Experience \& Education**
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering (or related engineering discipline).
* Typically 3–8\+ years of pipeline or midstream engineering experience, preferably in unconventional shale plays such as Eagle Ford.
* Pipeline hydraulics and flow modeling
* Pipeline materials and construction practices
* Experience with oil, gas, and produced water gathering systems.
* Familiarity with pipeline design standards and codes (ASME B31\.4, B31\.8\)
* Experience with PHMSA and Texas Railroad Commission pipeline regulations.
* Experience supporting pipeline construction and commissioning.
* Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.
