Job Description

**What to Expect**
Tesla is a demanding, fast\-paced, and exciting environment where disciplined, self\-motivated individuals can grow and excel. To contribute to this mission, this individual will manage execution and timely completion of factory engineering projects by analyzing project scope and determining project design for compliance with UL requirements by local building and planning departments for Giga Texas Tesla projects. This role includes the development of Engineering Judgments and coordination with Authority Having Jurisdiction on EJ approval and acceptance.

**What You'll Do*** Develop and create a complete set of code analysis and reports for permit documents for various site projects, including but not limited to High\-Piled Storage Analysis, Chemical Hazard Analysis, Specifications, and Hazard Analysis
* Develop and create Fire Protection Reports for new production lines, materials, suppression, and detection systems coming to the factory
* Produce RFP/RFQs documents for project scoping and pricing
* Develop and summit AM\&M (Alternate Means \& Methods) to local AHJ to help with performance\-based design criteria to meet the intent of code
* Code Planning / Life Safety Design (Schematic Design through commissioning)
* Implementation and inspections of specialty systems implementation
* Develop process improvements, workflows, and templates to increase design productivity and quality of deliverables


**What You'll Bring*** Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or equivalent experience
* Licensed Fire Protection Engineer with 8\+ years relevant experience required
* Experience working with Authorities Having Jurisfiction (AHJ)
* Strong analytical mindset and ability to organize time and tasks in a fast\-paced environment to meet strict deadlines
* Familiar with fire protection systems and fire smoke detection systems
* Must be self\-motivated and thrive in a team environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
