**Logistics Engineer, Offshore Energy**
The Logistics Engineer role within GLDD Offshore Energy division is responsible for the interface with suppliers, requesting pricing, logistical information, address project specific information/needs and develop the suppliers into a Supply Chain to be included in project tender submissions to Clients. This role will primarily focus on logistics for Rock Supply Chain(s) for the Subsea Rock Installation scope of work which includes quarries and ports capable of executing our project needs. The role will interface with both Offshore Energies Commercial Team and Project Execution Team. The position reports to the Supply Chain Manager, Offshore Energy.

In addition, Great Lakes is fully engaged in the rapidly developing offshore renewable energy market in the U.S. Our first step in this effort is the investment into the build of the first U.S.\-flagged Jones Act\-compliant, Subsea Rock Installation (SRI) Vessel for wind turbine foundations. Currently under construction, the ***SRI Acadia*** will set new standards for efficiency and innovation with its large capacity, accurate placement technology and cutting\-edge battery and alternative fuel systems. This unique, technologically advanced vessel is an essential step towards building the marine infrastructure required for this new industry, which holds so much promise for our nation economically and environmentally.
The Company employs experienced civil, ocean and mechanical engineering staff in its estimating, production and project management functions. In its over 135\-year history, the Company has never failed to complete a marine project. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Great Lakes owns and operates the largest and most diverse fleet in the U.S. dredging industry, comprised of approximately 200 specialized vessels. **Qualifications:**
* College level degree
* Preference for Bachelor in Engineering Degree (Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineer, etc)
* 0 to 3 Years of Job Experience in Engineering, Geotechnical, Supply Chain, or Construction
* Aggregate Industry, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction experience preferred
* Geology and Geotechnical Knowledge
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office programs
* Self\-starter, willing to learn, and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic fast paced environment
* Strong analytical skills and problem\-solving ability
* Excellent skills in planning and organization, as well as verbal and written communication
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Review and analyze quarry and port vendor pricing, production capabilities, transportation, stockpiling and loading capabilities
* Review and analyze Project plans \& specifications, including project specific requirements and testing relevant to the supply chain
* Technical evaluation of quarry rock characteristics and ensure compliance with project specifications
* Provide detailed supply chain cost inputs and supporting documentation for commercial tenders
* Required to travel both domestically \& internationally with travel being up to 30% of time
* Vendor site visits to assess proposed capabilities, operability, logistics and identify key considerations for project execution
* Support project execution activities such as vendor interface and production tracking
* Support project execution activities site visit rock gradation tests and site visit loading operations
* Additional duties as assigned
