This position will support the NASA EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program’s (EHP) Pressurized Rover (PR) Project team – part of the Artemis portfolio at the NASA Johnson Space Center in concert with our Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) partners. As part of this team, we are looking for an SE\&I GFE Engineer (Project Engineer \- Systems Engineering) who will serve as a systems engineer supporting the Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) team’s lead by interfacing with the program.
The selected candidate will be required to work full\-time, on\-site at Johnson Space Center in Houston TX.
What You’ll Be Doing* Support the PR Project GFE office at NASA Johnson Space Center, which is responsible for efficiently managing the PR crew equipment hardware, and oversee the design, development, testing, and certification minimizing cost/risk/schedule.
* Support the Project’s GFE Portfolio Manager in the following tasks:
+ Develop and maintain requirements traceability, support ICD updates, perform interface checks, coordinate analysis inputs (thermal/structural/human factors/ops/safety), prepare verification test inputs and test procedure drafts
+ Elicits, allocates, and manages system and interface requirements per PR systems engineering processes; maintains requirements database and traceability to verification
+ Develops system architecture, modularity, GFE commonality strategies for crewed lunar surface ops.
+ Plans expectations for Requirements and Verification products to ensure appropriate verification matrices and entry/exit criteria aligned with certification deliverables from hardware providers
+ Support NASA cross program integration
* Coordinate with subject matter experts as needed in review of certification plan
* Coordinate with subject matter experts as needed in review, commenting, and/or disposition of verification closure notices and associated data within contract specified time frame
* Assist with project lifecycle reviews (generated slide content, present as needed)


What You Need to be Successful – Project Engineer – Systems Engineering*Minimum Requirements:** Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, or another related STEM discipline
* At least 8 years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in systems engineering, technical interfaces, NASA program lifecycle, and NASA program management environment
* Knowledge of spaceflight certification processes, ensuring compliance with performance and safety requirements
* Proven track record integrating cross\-functional teams and complex systems in dynamic environments
* Expertise in requirements verification and validation methodologies (inspection, analysis, demonstration, and test)
* Comprehensive understanding of NASA program lifecycles and milestone reviews
* Proficiency with NASA collaboration tools including CMW (Configuration Management Workspace), SharePoint, and wiki platforms
* Exceptional communicator skilled at conveying complex technical concepts through presentations, documentation, and briefings to stakeholders at all organizational levels
* Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast\-paced, agile teams while leading technical discussions across large, distributed communities and influencing enterprise\-wide initiatives
* Self\-starter with proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and partnerships
* Outstanding leadership and collaboration skills with demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities across diverse technical disciplines simultaneously
* Experience fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams in matrixed organizations
* Willing to travel occasionally to another work location or customer site/domestically approx. 5%
