This position will support the NASA EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program’s (EHP) Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) Project SEI team – part of the Artemis portfolio at the NASA Johnson Space Center. As part of this team, you will serve as an Systems Engineer (Project Engineer\- Systems Engineering) supporting the SEI team’s Verification and Validation lead.
The selected candidate will be required to work full\-time, on\-site at Johnson Space Center in Houston TX.
What You’ll Be Doing* Support the LTV Project SEI office at NASA Johnson Space Center, which is responsible for the definition, development, and implementation of the LTV in support of the Artemis architecture.
* Support the Project’s Verification and Validation Lead in the following tasks:
* Attend project or program meetings and reviews to keep SE\&I team informed of developments
* Review, comment, maintain, and update program level requirements
* Develop and manage project system requirements
* Lead NASA cross project interface verification
* Review Contractor verification, validation, and certification plan
* Coordinate with subject matter experts as needed in review of Contractor verification, validation, and certification plan
* Coordinate with subject matter experts on review of Contractor Integration and Test plans
* Review contractor provided verification closure notices and associated data
* Coordinate with subject matter experts as needed in review, commenting, and/or disposition of verification closure notices and associated data within contract specified time frame
* Develop project SE\&I documents as needed
* Conduct CRs (external documents routed to LTV for review/comment) related to system specifications documents and work with the SE technical coordinators to ensure alignment with project needs
* Assist with project lifecycle reviews (generated slide content, present as needed)
What You Need to be Successful \- Project Engineer – Systems Engineering*Minimum Requirements:** Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, or another related STEM discipline
* At least 6 years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in systems engineering, technical interfaces, NASA program lifecycle, and NASA program management environment
* Demonstrated success coordinating cross\-functional engineering teams and integrating multi\-disciplinary systems to deliver cohesive solutions for large\-scale programs
* Working knowledge of NASA's program management framework, including familiarity with key milestone reviews and approval processes
* Hands\-on experience utilizing in Jira, CMW, SharePoint, and Wiki platforms for technical documentation, knowledge management, and team collaboration
* Strong ability to articulate complex technical concepts, deliver compelling presentations, and provide clear recommendations to stakeholders across all organizational levels—from engineering teams to executive leadership
* Proven capability to thrive within dynamic, small core teams that drive technical strategy, facilitate discussions across large technical communities, and influence decision\-making throughout the NASA enterprise
* Excellent teaming and leadership skills with an ability to work effectively across diverse teams and multidisciplinary engineering disciplines simultaneously
* Self\-motivated professional with demonstrated success building and maintaining productive partnerships with customers, program offices, and key stakeholders to achieve mission objectives
* Knowledge of space flight certification frameworks and processes required to validate performance specifications, safety requirements, and mission\-critical standards for human spaceflight
* Willing to travel occasionally to another work location or customer site/domestically approx. 5%
