**Position Summary**
The ESP Reliability / DIFA Engineer supports the DIFA (Dismantle, Inspection, and Failure Analysis) process for Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems and is responsible for both the mechanical execution of teardowns and the technical analysis of failures. This role performs equipment dismantling, inspection, documentation, and Root Cause Failure Analysis to identify failure mechanisms, support customer failure reviews, and drive continuous reliability improvements.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
* Perform dismantling and teardown of returned ESP equipment, including pumps, gas separators, seal sections, motors, sensors, and associated components
* Follow established DIFA procedures, teardown sequences, and safety practices
* Maintain proper identification, labeling, and traceability of all equipment and components
* Preserve failure evidence by avoiding cleaning, alteration, or modification unless instructed
* Maintain dismantled components and wells in an organized and controlled manner
* Coordinate and support ESP teardown scheduling
* Conduct detailed inspections of ESP components to identify damage, wear, corrosion, or abnormal conditions
* Document teardown and inspection findings through written observations and photographic evidence
* Develop Dismantle \& Inspection (D\&I), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Failure Analysis reports
* Perform Root Cause Failure Analyses using industry standards and reliability engineering best practices
* Identify recurring failure modes and contributing operational or environmental factors
* Provide statistical analysis of ESP performance, including run life, failure trends, and root causes
* Support the Reliability Manager with investigations, reporting, and technical analysis
* Assist Sales teams during Customer Failure Reviews with technical findings and reliability conclusions
* Communicate results clearly and professionally to internal teams and customers
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and reliability improvement strategies
Requirements:
**Position Requirements:**
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, or related field
* Or High School Diploma with significant ESP DIFA experience may be considered for technician focused roles.
* Minimum of one (1\) year of experience in ESP Reliability Engineering, DIFA, or related ESP service/repair operations
* Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity using shop tools and equipment
* Solid understanding of ESP components and downhole systems
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear engineering reports
* Proficiency in computer applications for data analysis and reporting
* High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a business environment
