**Job Summary:**


The Transmission Line Engineer designs, analyzes, and maintains high\-voltage electrical infrastructure, including overhead and underground lines to ensure reliable power delivery.




**Job Duties and Responsibilities:**




* Lead and/or support the initial project execution layout to ensure an efficient and effective project plan has been established;


* Manage engineers, drafters, and designers on small to medium sized engineering projects and interface directly with the client;


* Responsible for creating and maintaining a project schedule and budget;


* Facilitate weekly or bi\-weekly project meetings to clearly outline upcoming deliverables and tasks with responsible personnel identified;


* Coordinate with clients on project status and support project meetings as necessary;


* Maintain project workflow and thorough communication across multi\-discipline projects, both internal and external to the company;


* Forecast upcoming project requirements to assist in resource planning;


* Facilitate and adhere to the company and the client’s QA/QC procedure to ensure the correct personnel is performing the required QA/QC review;


* Maintain project status reports for project managers;


* Provide weekly or bi\-weekly project updates and project forecasting;


* Lead and/or support Project Manager by meeting with clients, both in\-person and remotely;


* Support resource forecast planning for upcoming and current project loads;


* Provide business improvement methodologies and procedures;


* Discuss project and/or department personnel conflicts, performance issues, and collaborate on a suitable approach to constructively provide a successful resolution.




**Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):**




**Basic or Minimum Qualifications**




* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in a closely related discipline;


* Five (5\) years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior civil design experience;


* Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work\-related issues;


* Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including rehabilitation and new design;


* Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements;


* Knowledge with process and concepts for reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances/greenhouse gas;


* Knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record\-keeping requirements;


* Availability and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously;


* Availability and ability to work overtime based on project needs;


* Experience with discipline\-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak, GeoSlope, ANSYS, STADD, HEC\-RAS, HEC\-HMS).




**Preferred Qualifications**




* Engineer In Training Certificate


* P.E. license


* Electric utility industry experience


* Experience managing projects and leading multi\-disciplined teams


* Design experience up to 230 kV


* Distribution design experience


* At least 3\-years of experience using POLE, TOWER and FAD Tools software packages


* At least 3 years of experience using PLS\-CADD


* Transmission line routing


* Transmission foundation design


* Transmission structure load and design


* Cost estimating and scheduling


* Experience using L\-Pile and Microsoft Projects or Primavera (P6\)


* 40\-Hour OSHA Health \& Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910\.120\) preferred




**Working Conditions:**




* Work is primarily conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi\-Private Office) but also requires occasional travel to off\-site work locations;


* Field duties require outdoor work in a construction site type atmosphere;


* Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel;


* Working on a construction site or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels


* Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection;


* May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes;


* May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
