Job Description
The Senior Pipeline Technician reports to the Supervisor, Pipeline and is a key member of the reliability team responsible for advanced troubleshooting, predictive and preventative maintenance, and reliability improvements across all pipeline, compressor, measurement, and control assets. This role ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards, maintains lessons learned, and partners with OEMs to drive safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
**RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES**• Design, review, and deploy maintenance programs for E\&I/Control systems across all pipeline facilities.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and perform failure analysis on complex system issues.
• Track, trend, and report reliability data to ensure compliance with OEM tolerances and performance standards.
• Develop and maintain lessons\-learned logs and apply improvements across new and existing assets.
• Partner with OEMs and engineering to refine maintenance procedures and resolve design issues.
• Review and evaluate new technology for inclusion in facilities and future projects.
• Lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers and technicians in critical troubleshooting, optimization, and reliability practices.
**KNOWLEDGE:****Knowledge:**• In death knowledge of cathodic protection technology, corrosion control systems, and E\&I/Control equipment.
•Advanced knowledge of NACE standards, DOT/ PHMSA part 192 guidelines, and industry best practices.
•Proficiency in failure analysis, reliability data trending, and equipment optimization.
•Knowledge of advanced troubleshooting techniques for pipelines, compressors, and measurement facilities.
•Skilled in using maintenance management and reliability software (e.g., Maximo).
•Ability to evaluate new technology and integrate lessons learned across systems and facilities.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE****Education and Certifications:** Two (2\+) year associates degree in E\&I/Controls or equivalent work experience. Apprenticeship experience is a plus.
**Experience** **:*** **Pipeline Technician III:** Minimum of five (5\+) years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
* **Senior Pipeline Technician:** Minimum of seven (7\+) years of experience in an industrial setting in engineering or operations depending on the type of experience. Experience with LNG liquefaction, petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or other hydrocarbon processing is required.

**FREEDOM TO ACT**The Technician/ Senior Technician requires minimal supervision.
**WORK CONDITIONS*** Job is subject to time pressures and constraints and is also dependent on input from others.
* Job is performed both in a typical office environment and at field locations including pipeline facilities, terminal facilities, and hydrocarbon processing facilities.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write.
* Must be able to climb to the top of operations platforms, scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height, and lift and move objects weighting up to 30 pounds.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors and outdoors, and exposed to year around weather conditions, ocean environment, noise, and occasionally process gases and vapors.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required periodically to wear personal protective equipment such as fire\-retardant clothing, protective footwear, hearing protection, a hard hat, and safety glasses.
* Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
* Periodic travel to support field operations and to performing other duties including overnight trips is required.
* Working extended hours including weekends may be required periodically.
* Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal and state regulations.
